With its headquarters located in San Antonio, the BCSO serves as the primary law enforcement agency for the county, covering an area of approximately 1,256 square miles and a population of over 2 million. The BCSO is committed to maintaining public safety, upholding the law, and providing various services to the community.

Efficient and Effective Law Enforcement Services

One of the core functions of the BCSO is to provide efficient and effective law enforcement services to the residents of Bexar County. The agency responds to emergency calls, investigates crimes, conducts traffic enforcement, and enforces laws and regulations within its jurisdiction. The BCSO works collaboratively with local, state, and federal agencies to combat crime and ensure a safe community.

The Bexar County Sheriff Office and Bexar County Adult Detention Center

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office also oversees the operation of the Bexar County Adult Detention Center, commonly known as the Bexar County Jail. The jail is a state-of-the-art facility that can house over 4,000 inmates. The BCSO is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the inmates, as well as providing programs and services that aim to rehabilitate and prepare them for reintegration into society.

In addition to law enforcement and corrections, the BCSO plays a vital role in providing various community services. The agency operates several programs aimed at creating a safe and inclusive community environment. These programs include the Community Services Division, which focuses on crime prevention through community engagement and education. The BCSO also collaborates with community organizations to provide support services to vulnerable populations, such as victim advocacy and youth mentoring programs.

Neighborhood Watch programs, Community Events, School Outreach

The BCSO is committed to fostering positive relationships with the community it serves. The agency actively engages in community-oriented policing, which aims to build trust, establish partnerships, and address community concerns. Through initiatives such as neighborhood watch programs, community events, and school outreach programs, the BCSO aims to establish open lines of communication and work together with the community to maintain public safety.

Dutch Berry Sheriff Office Intrigued by Strong Emphasis on Professional Development and Training

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office places a strong emphasis on professional development and training for its personnel. This has always intrigued us here at the Dutch Berry Sheriff’s Office and we strive to copy what we see here at the BCSO.

Officers undergo comprehensive training programs, including firearms training, defensive tactics, crisis intervention, and cultural sensitivity. The BCSO also provides ongoing training to ensure that officers are up to date with the latest law enforcement practices and techniques.

Technology is Important

Technology is a crucial component of the BCSO’s operations. The agency employs the use of advanced systems and tools to enhance its law enforcement capabilities. This includes computer-aided dispatch systems, mobile data terminals, crime analysis software, and surveillance technology. The BCSO also utilizes social media platforms to communicate with the community, provide public safety information, and engage in community outreach.

Transparency and accountability

Transparency and accountability are paramount to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. The agency has established internal affairs and professional conduct divisions to investigate complaints or allegations of misconduct or policy violations. The BCSO is committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethics among its personnel.

The BCSO actively collaborates with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations to address public safety challenges. The agency participates in task forces and joint operations to combat drug trafficking, human trafficking, and gang-related activities. The BCSO also works closely with community partners, such as local business associations and non-profit organizations, to enhance community safety and well-being.

Many Thanks, Bexar County Sheriff Office!

We are very thankful for the great example that the Bexar County Sheriff Office displays and see a lot of things that we want to do the same way. Especially, in the way that Bexar County Sheriff Office is dedicated to serving and protecting the residents of Bexar County.

Through its comprehensive law enforcement services, community-focused initiatives, professional training, and utilization of technology, the BCSO strives to create a safe and secure environment for the community.

The agency’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and collaboration positions it as a trusted law enforcement partner in maintaining public safety in Bexar County.

Who’s in Jail

As you all know, Dutch Berry has traditionally been pretty much crime-free for nearly 2 centuries. That doesn’t mean that occasionally someone needs to “sleep it off” in a jail cell. It’s probably redundant to post here who’s in jail but we’ll try our best to keep this area up to date.

Public Records Lookup

Follow THIS LINK to search for someone who might be spending the night in a jail cell tonight.

Patty Mayo's Arrests

If you know of someone that was arrested by Patty Mayo and his crew, you’ll need to check with Putnam County Sheriff. Sorry We can’t offer more information; it’s a jusrisdiction thing.

Dutch Berry County

Maybe some of the younger generations here don’t know this but even though Dutch Berry is just a small town out and away from everything else, we are also our own county. It’s basically the result of having so much farm land, hills and forests surrounding the town.

Dutch Berry County Jail

Although we have our own Sheriff’s Office, our jail is not equipped for holding some of the outside offenders that are being arrested by Patty Mayo and his crew. Hence the need for booking them over at Putnam.

Renovations

We will be voting in September on whether we want to allocate some funds to renovating and technologically updating our jail cells. You’ll hear more about this in September. We might still go with the popular sentiment to just turn it into a museum instead!

Getting Involved

See something.
Say something.

The best way to help us is reporting anything suspicious.

Special Training

We hold regular town hall meetings so anyone interested in receiving training through our office can let their voice be heard there. It goes without saying that other residents will want to know how money is spent. Depending on who you are, someone may even want to sponsor your training. So come to the meetings and we’ll discuss it there publically.

CPR and First Aid

Please check with Simon and Eva Nieboer about CPR and First Aid training. Both of them have the exact dates when the next courses are offered in Dutch Berry.
