The town of Dutch Berry

Is Dutch Berry real?

Yes, if you mean the story. No, if you mean a county you can find on a map.

The short answer

Dutch Berry is a fictional town. There is no Dutch Berry County in any real state. This site is not a government office, not a sheriff’s department, and not a place that can take a report.

What you are reading is the unofficial field office, gift shop, and citizen handbook for people who treat the town like it’s real. We keep the kayfabe and we keep the lights on. We also tell the truth when someone asks the question on purpose.

Then why does it look like an office?

Because that is how the town was always told. A desk. A park that closes at nine. A butcher named De Slager, a baker named Lara, a street posted 15. The videos that made the name travel were entertainment. The comments under them were people asking the same two questions this site now answers in the open.

We used to answer sideways. That was a good joke until someone arrived looking for a holding cell or a job. The joke stays. The claim that we are a county agency does not.

What this office is

  • A handbook for a fictional town.
  • A place to buy novelty gear that is marked novelty.
  • A bulletin board for briefings and citizen mail.
  • A map with six pins, on purpose.

What this office is not

  • A law-enforcement agency.
  • Affiliated with Patty Mayo, his channel, or any real sheriff.
  • A .gov. The domain ends in .com because it is a story with a shop attached.
  • A place that hires deputies, collects tax dollars, or takes you on a tour of a cell.
  • The right window for a real warrant, a real missing person, or a real emergency.

If you came from a video

You probably typed the question because a uniform looked official and a park looked like a park. That is fair. A lot of people did. The town in those clips is Dutch Berry. The town on this site is the same town, written down so the gift shop and this page can live next to each other without lying.

Patty Mayo is a visitor the town talks about. He is not the brand and he is not on the merch. The town is the brand. The longer answer about him has its own page.

Is Patty Mayo a real sheriff?

Can I visit?

Not the way you visit a county seat. There is no address to put in a car. Putnam Park closes at nine inside the story. Main Street is 15 inside the story. If you came hoping for a tour, take the gift shop instead and keep the speed limit wherever you actually live.

Can I work here?

Not as a deputy. We do not swear anyone. If you want to be useful later, the town will need historians and shop testers, unpaid, and we will say so in plain language. Until that notice exists, there is nothing to apply for.

Who keeps the lights on

This desk. A Gmail that has been here the whole time. A channel with more loyalty than subscribers. A butcher’s family that has had the same case since Jeroen handed it to Johannes in 1977. Lara’s donuts. A park with one rule that everybody already knows.

That is enough town for a first page. The candlestick maker can wait.

If you needed a different kind of help

Call 911, or the sheriff of the county you are actually standing in. We will not take a report, name a suspect, or tell you who is in a jail that does not exist. That sentence is the whole procedure.

Dutch Berry is a story people keep living in. We keep the lights on.
