Is Patty Mayo a real sheriff?
No. He is a visitor the town talks about. The town is the brand.
The short answer
Patty Mayo is not a real sheriff. He is not a deputy of any real county. The uniform in the videos is a costume for entertainment. Real sheriffs in Oregon have said the same thing in public, in their own words: he is an actor, and the people in the videos are a crew or paid performers.
This site is not his site. We are not affiliated with him, his channel, or any production company. We do not speak for him. We do not sell his face.
Then why does this town mention him?
Because that is how a lot of people found the name Dutch Berry. They watched a clip, they typed a question, they landed on a desk that used to pretend the answer was more complicated than it is.
The honest version: Dutch Berry is a fictional town. Mayo made videos set in that town. This handbook is an unofficial companion for people who stayed after the credits. He is a visitor in the story. He is not the sheriff of a real place, and he is not the owner of this desk.
What we will not do
- We will not put his name or face on a patch, a coin, or a shirt.
- We will not take job applications to “join the crew.”
- We will not invent a warrant, an arrest, or a person you might try to look up in a real county.
- We will not argue with a real sheriff’s office on his behalf.
If you came here from an old page on this domain
The earlier post on this question tried to keep the kayfabe by deputizing him in a town-hall vote. That was the old costume. It confused people who needed a straight answer. This page replaces that answer.
The old address /home/is-patty-mayo-a-real-sheriff/ may still exist in WordPress until it is redirected here. Treat this page as the one that counts.
The other question
If what you actually meant was “is any of this a real county,” that page is next door.
The town talks about visitors. It does not rent them the badge.
